Sang Hnin Lian studied Political Science at Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. Currently, he is a Master’s Candidate degree in Human Rights - International Program at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, Thailand. His master’s thesis focused on the religious freedom of the Christian Chins in Myanmar. His recently published papers include ‘The Implementation of India's Look East Policy and Its Impact on Burmese Refugees in 1990s' and ‘Gender Gap and Women Political Participation in Myanmar’.
Sang Hnin Lian is currently teaching a number of Human Rights courses at the Chin Christian University in Hakha, and serves as Director of the Human Rights Education and Religious Freedom Program at the Chin Human Rights Organisation. In 2017 he co-founded the Chin State Academic Research Network.
